Several times a year, we need groups of volunteers to assist with pantry organization, senior honey-do projects, community food drives, and yard maintenance.  Once we receive your interest form, one of our staff members will follow-up with you within 3-5 business days and work with you to finalize a volunteer event date and time.

Pantry Organization:
Throughout the year, we are in need of help to stock and organize our pantry.  Jobs could include picking up pallets of food at the grocery store and transporting items back to SASS, sorting pantry items, stocking shelves, and marking expiration dates on food items.

Senior Honey-Do Projects:
When safe, many low-income seniors need extra help with small projects.  We often partner with Mill Pond Manor to coordinate times throughout the year for groups to help these seniors with light cleaning and small odd jobs.

Community Food Drives:
We are so grateful to our community for hosting annual food drives throughout the year -- USPS Food Drive, SAS National Honor Society Food Drive, Keystone Church Food Drive, Busch's Fresh Food Market and Meijer Simply Give Food Donation events.  While dates for this year are still in flux due to COVID-19, we often need extra help during the days of these drives to help collect and weigh food once it's delivered to SASS and to help us stock our pantry.  

Yard Maintenance:
Our .25 acre yard needs some extra care during the spring (weeding, mulch) and fall (weeding, raking). If you like to be outdoors, this is a wonderful way to help.
