APME Mentor Program application
Ten emerging newsroom leaders will be selected to participate in the first year of this program. Those chosen will be paired with veteran editors whose expertise best matches the career goals of the applicant.

In order for us to match the best mentor for the mentee's goals, please offer thoughtful and honest insight in your answers to open-ended questions.

This is a one-year program with selections announced by email in August and a first meeting of mentor/mentee in September (in person, if possible, at the ASNE-APME News Leadership Conference in Austin, Texas).

- Program will begin with a 360 assessment of mentee, providing feedback from supervising editor, co-workers and direct reports. Mentee will be responsible for advocating for the timely completion of the assessment within his or her own newsroom.
- Mentor / mentee will establish goals and growth opportunities at the beginning of program, using feedback from mentee and information collected in 360 assessment.
- Once a month scheduled phone call and weekly email contact.
- Mentor and mentee should each come to monthly phone call with at least one topic for discussion and exploration.
