TimeBank Hull and East Riding Privacy Policy
When you sign up to the TimeBank you share certain personal data with us. We hold this whilst you are a member of the TimeBank. As a member of Hull and East Riding TimeBank you are agreeing for us to process your personal data. We have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data in order to fulfil our duties as an organisation and to report anonymised information to funders. This information has been freely given by you and includes your name, contact details, date of birth and any other information you gave to us during the application process to help us better understand your needs, interests and skills. Your personal information will be kept private and held securely in accordance with this privacy policy.
The definition of ‘Processing’ is obtaining, using, holding, amending, disclosing, destroying and deleting personal data. This includes some paper based personal data as well as that held on a secure computer.
Personal data: Personal data can mean anything from a person’s name, online ID, ethnicity, age, income, gender and any other information that can identify a person.
Your rights
You can request a copy of the data we hold about you at any time and you can ask for it to be deleted from our records at any time. Upon requesting to leave the organisation we will remove your personal details from our records within 25 days of your request. The time credits you have acquired to date will then be saved anonymously. Alternatively, you can also choose to donate your time credits to the TimeBank community pot or other members.
The law also provides you with other rights regarding your information including some around; correction of inaccurate data, objection to processing, moving your information to somewhere else, and in some cases, getting your information deleted.
What if something changes?
If the information you provided changes, or your circumstances change contact us with the relevant information. If we need to change something like who we want to share this information with, we will contact you to let you know.
If you are unhappy with the way your data is being handled, please speak to a member of staff. If you are not satisfied with any response you may receive based on a complaint or concern about your personal information, then you have the option of contacting the Information Commissioners Office to take that complaint further. The Information Commissioners Office does like to see that you have raised a complaint with the agent first and received a response before contacting them. Using your personal information
In order to be able to communicate what’s happening at Hull and East Riding TimeBank, we need to send you information. We primarily do this electronically via our online time banking platform, hOurworld or text. This information is only accessible by administrators (i.e. staff or members’ who are contributing time on administrative duties who have signed a confidentiality agreement, and if appropriate have been DBS checked). Only your name is viewable to others via the hOurworld platform; you can then choose whether your email address and other contact details are viewable to other members. Staff and members will not share other members’ contact details without members’ prior permission. We will not share your details with any third parties without your consent unless we have a duty of care or if we are required to do so by law.
