Co-Creating our Futures: a program for youth ages 15-24 resettled within the past 5 years, offer in
tergenerational solutions for Resettled Youth and Families using a comprehensive strategy to:• remove barriers to full participation in education, employment, civic and social spheres;
• nurture meaningful connections to physical, mental, emotional, and social health;
• co-create and support educational, career & life goals at the individual & family levels.
The conditions needed for thriving youth are inseparable from those needed for thriving families. As an intergenerational strategy, Co-Creating our Futures (CCF) will directly engage and connect youth from resettled communities, their families, and adult mentors, to define and champion their own culturally responsive solutions to empowerment and thriving. TANTA staff will work with each CCF youth cohort member to create strategic individual goals, assess barriers to thriving, and co-create a physical, mental, emotional, and social health plan.
Throughout the implementation of the CCF strategy, TANTA will engage family members of each CCF cohort to provide ongoing culturally responsive support and relevant referrals, as well as facilitate collective, intergenerational support for both the youth participant and their family. Each CCF cohort member will receive individual support from an adult mentor and participate in a 12-week supportive learning community facilitated by participating mentors and a licensed mental health professional.
