Knowing that Illinois will become a critical source of access to abortion for surrounding states if the Supreme Court rolls back Roe v. Wade (which is expected in late June), faith communities are organizing to identify what we can do--and the potential legal risks of doing so. This training on Self-Managed Abortion and the Law will be provided by If/When/How, a national organization of lawyers dedicated to reproductive justice.
https://www.ifwhenhow.org/.
In this webinar, If/When/How will define and demystify self-managed abortion and provide context for the ways in which the law has been applied to this abortion experience in the U.S. The team from If/When/How will be available to answer your questions.
This training is for people of faith in Illinois who support reproductive health, rights, and justice. It is a confidential training not open to the media or general public.
Beyond the helpful content of this training, this gathering is a chance for participants to build relationships with other faith activists and learn about a model for abortion access travel networks. If you are interested in this work but cannot attend the training, please RSVP anyway and select that option! There will be more opportunities in the future, and we want to include as many people as possible.
This training is being organized by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign (
