The Mayor's Teacher of the Year Award recognizes outstanding San Francisco public school teachers for their dedication, professionalism, and work on behalf of our City's young people. From these nominations, a selection committee consisting of youth, community members, and representatives from the Mayor's Office, San Francisco Unified School District, United Educators of San Francisco, and the San Francisco Education Fund will review and select this year's awardees.
Applications for the 2018 season close Friday, March 2 at 5pm.
***Important: To be eligible, a teacher must have the following:
- Full time tenure at a San Francisco Unified School District site.- At least five years of teaching experience in the San Francisco Unified School District.- An exemplary history of work in education.- Meets standards of professional and ethical conduct.
