Earthskills Rendezvous is a non-profit organization with a board of directors call the Leadership Council. Would you like to volunteer your time and energy to help guide the big picture and long-term direction of Rendezvous? LC members have a unique opportunity to contribute to Rendezvous in a meaningful way!
What is the commitment?
Each Member’s Job Description
LC members serve a two year term, with the possibility of re-election. There are no term limits as we value longevity, long term relationship, and historical and big picture awareness in an LC member.
LC members are expected to act and vote in the best interest of Rendezvous as a whole. Instead of considering what policy you would like, ask what policy would best serve Rendezvous.
Minimum expectations for remaining on the LC: 1) Attend at least one event per year. 2) Attend 75% of LC meetings, in person and online. 3) Read and understand the bylaws, mission statement, and senior staff job descriptions. 4) Have an email account and regular internet and phone access. 5) Time expectations - Attend monthly meetings and review pertinent documents (2 hrs/ month) Attend in-person meeting at the event (3 hours) Survey the needs of the gathering during the event (1-2 hours a day) Engage in committee work. (Average 2-4 hours a month)
Stay informed about E.R.I. matters
Build and maintain working relationships with LC members, staff, and the general community.
Each member respects the LC’s final decision once a resolution has been reached. That is, regardless of a member's opposition to a final verdict, s/he will stand as one alongside fellow council members to face the community and deliver the results of the vote paired with the explanation and reasoning behind it. In communicating with members of the community LC members should be clear when they are communicating as a representative of the LC and when not.

Our mission is to provide high quality educational gatherings for people to learn earthskills and experience living in community.
Goals:
Honor and preserve the skills and knowledge of those who came before us
Share foundational skills that help us to gain an appreciation of our ancestral roots and develop a deeper connection to the natural world
Empower people with practical skills that build self-confidence
Explore cultural skills that support community cohesion and interdependence
Create the experience of an intergenerational village, living, working, learning, playing, and celebrating together

A world where people are empowered with both the physical and cultural skills to live sustainable, connected lives and ultimately contribute to the well-being of humanity's relationship to the natural world for generations to come.
Process for becoming an LC member:
Submit your application. After your application is reviewed (1-4 weeks), someone from the LC will reach out to discuss next steps. If we decide to move forward with your application, we will invite you to attend a series (4) of our online meetings as a provisional member to get a feel for how it is to work with you. At the end of the series, you can decide if you want to continue as a full member. If so, the LC will take a vote on whether or not to install you as a full voting member for a 2-year term.
