This survey is a part of the African American Historical Records Project (AAHRP) with the Schenectady County Historical Society, a collaborative project to recognize and preserve Black history and heritage in Schenectady. We are asking a range of questions that we hope will help expand the community’s knowledge of the history of Black people in Schenectady. Your participation will be an important part of developing the history, legacy and memory of the Black community in Schenectady. Please complete the questions with as much information as you can or have access to based upon your experiences in Schenectady. This particular survey is for individuals but if you have interest in doing so, you can complete a second survey focused on organizations. The survey should take between 10-15 minutes to complete.
