MS Summer Reading Book Choices for Incoming Grade 5
1. Each student is required to read 1 book from the three listed below, two from the MS Grade 5 Summer Reading list, and two of their own choice. If an author or series is on the list any book may be read by that author or in that series that is age appropriate. For the five summer reading books, students will conduct a short activity from the summer reading nine- square chart that can be found on the MS Summer Reading Page.

2. Below are listed three books, and you will need to choose at least one. Please read the form below and choose one, two or all three books to read this summer. The books you choose from this form count as part of the 5 books you need to read in total.

3. Over the summer there will be book discussions about the three books listed on this form. The discussions will be led by PDS teachers and librarians. They will take place in June, July and August. A schedule will be sent to you. You may choose to participate in ANY or ALL of the discussions. The discussions are voluntary.

4. After choosing books from this form, browse the MS Grade 5 Summer Reading list and SORA to select some other books you might want to read. List them on the bottom of this form. Be sure to keep a copy of this form for yourself by making a screen shot or writing down the books.
