1. Any student who wishes to apply to the National Junior Honor Society must have an overall grade point average of 90.00% or above during the 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR UP UNTIL APPLYING FOR NJHS.
2. Student must have PARTICIPATED in TWO or MORE UIL events in the 2023-2024 school year
OR candidate must type/write a
TWO PAGE paper indicating and explaining why student would make a perfect candidate for NJHS. In detail explain past achievements, leadership qualities, community involvement, extracurricular activities, etc.
3. Students with disciplinary referrals that have resulted in assignment to ISS or
DAEP
WILL NOT be considered for membership in the organization.

THREE Recommendations from candidates' current teachers will be solicited by the student.
5. The CLASSIFIED Faculty Council will determine the actual selection of members to the National Junior Honor Society based on the criteria of scholarship, service, leadership, and character determined by the students' application.
6. The Faculty Council will review the students' application, teacher recommendations, and administration feedback member recommendations forms, and any other verifiable information about each candidate to make their decision.
7. Candidates meeting all of the expectations will be inducted into the MHMS chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.
