Student Leadership Workshop: How to Run a Global Issues Club
The Red Cross Student Movement (RCSM) is a student-driven initiative that aims to build a humanitarian network across the Lower Mainland. We want to provide student leaders like you with the tools and resources to take action on global issues, as well as plan events and campaigns to help address those issues at a local level within your school and community.

Event Description:
The "How to Run a Global Issues Club" workshop is a student leadership workshop for students who are currently involved in (or are interested in becoming involved in) running a global issues club in their high school. This interactive workshop is full of practical information and is designed to help you become a strong leader in your school. Whether you are just starting out or have been running a club for years, there are activities designed to help you be a more effective and confident leader and there will be lots of time to answer any questions that you may have. The workshop is open to all students in grades 8-12 regardless of your level of experience/involvement- you are all welcome to attend! There will be a "think tank" activity at the end of the day for all students to brainstorm project/event ideas and begin to take concrete steps towards leadership activities and goals.

Event Goals:
For people starting a club:
-To learn the steps necessary to successfully set up a global issues club
-To encourage networking with other participants
-To develop a few ideas on projects to start off the year
