We, the undersigned Portland parents, caregivers, school staff and members of the Portland community, urge the Portland School Administration and School Board to implement a phone-free policy in all Portland public schools.

This policy would require that students are not in possession of cell phones and smartwatches from the first bell to the last, giving them seven hours per day to learn, interact with teachers and peers, and to be the person in charge of their attention.

Portland's families and educators will work with administration to develop a policy that works for all stakeholders.
