"Intro to Transformative Justice" Day-long Led by Mia Mingus
DATE: Monday, January 28th
TIME: 12pm - 6pm
LOCATION: 701 Heinz Ave, Berkeley

Description:
How do we respond to violence within our own communities without relying on the police, prisons or other state systems? This event will offer a basic introduction to and overview of the core concepts of transformative justice. It will be a space for participants to learn about transformative justice and how to begin thinking about community-based responses to violence.

FOOD:
We will provide a meal as well as snacks for the training.

CHILDCARE:
Childcare is available for the event, please let us know if you'd like to use this resource and we'll talk in further detail.

ACCESS:
The space is wheelchair-accessible, no steps at the entrances. The space is open and airy, but not scent-free.

Additional People:
Because this work is relational in nature, participants are strongly encouraged to bring at least one additional person in their personal or professional life. Someone you would call on if you experienced harm or caused harm within those contexts. Or someone with whom you don't have that type of relationship yet but are close, and interested in building with.
If you are bringing additional folks, please have them register separately, but note it below.

PLEASE WAIT TO HEAR A CONFIRMATION FROM US THAT YOU ARE REGISTERED IN THE TRAINING.

THANK YOU.
