We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for your child to engage in literacy, mathematics, and social emotional skills in fun and engaging ways after school. This year the focus of our Academic Adventures program is designed to strengthen and enrich your child’s vocabulary, reading, math, and social -emotional skills. Each student will have a "homebase" teacher who will take daily attendance, provide snack, and have a focused small group activity on literacy. Your child will then switch classes and receive a second small group activity in mathematics. There will also be opportunity for your child to participate with a small group in social skills building through board games, gym games, or other activities that foster positive interactions and relationship building with peers.
During this time, your child will be working with a teacher in a small group setting to enrich their academic learning.
We are asking for all students to be picked up from Academic Adventures club by 4:00 p.m. If picking up, carpooling, or ride sharing does not work for you, we will be offering public transportation via Hiawathland Transit (city busing). Please email Kayla Bell at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are in need of public transportation services.
