Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to A Step Up Academy (ASUA)! We’re always excited to connect with families and share more about our program.
ASUA is currently enrolling for the 2025–2026 school year in select grades (Please note this is subject to change.):
At this time, space is limited, and we are primarily working with families who have—or will soon have—a district or charter school agreement to attend a private special education school. This is the most common path for students to join ASUA, and it ensures that tuition is fully or partially covered by the school district.
If you are not yet in the placement process but are interested in learning more about ASUA, we will be hosting virtual information sessions and open house events starting later this fall. These sessions will be a great way to learn about our program, tour, and understand how the placement process works. We’ll follow up with details as soon as the schedule is finalized.
About ASUA
ASUA is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting autistic and disabled individuals and their families through a wide range of integrated services. ASUA operates licensed private schools that provide individualized, child-centered educational programming, as well as additional services including clinical and behavioral supports, pre-vocational and transition programming, and professional development and training for educators and caregivers. Through its schools and community-based services, ASUA fosters inclusion, independence, and meaningful growth across all stages of life.
ASUA School Program- A Step Up Academy
A Step Up Academy (ASUA) offers licensed private special education autistic support school programs for students from preschool up to a student's 22nd birthday and is designed to meet individual needs through child-centered, data-informed instruction. ASUA’s educational model integrates evidence-based academic, behavioral, and therapeutic supports within a nurturing and inclusive environment. Each student’s program is personalized to foster communication, independence, self-advocacy, and community engagement. With a strong emphasis on collaboration among educators, clinicians, and families, ASUA equips students with the skills needed to thrive in school, at home, and in the world.
Placement & Tuition
Most of our students are placed through their school district or charter school via an IEP or compensatory education agreement. In these cases, the district agrees to fund the student’s education at ASUA. Families may also choose to pay tuition directly; however, the cost of our specialized program can often be cost prohibitive for families. Our base school-age tuition for 2025–2026 is $67,500, which includes:
Additional services and one-to-one assistants are available at an additional cost for students who require them.
We look forward to staying in touch, and we’ll be sure to share details for our upcoming virtual sessions. In the meantime, please fill out the following form for more information and to join our mailing list.
Sincerely,
A Step Up Academy Admissions Team
