What is it?
The Hive Richmond is a community hub that will offer makerspace and meeting spaces to serve as a place for the whole Richmond area to inspire and collaborate with each other!
When is this happening?
Preparation and planning efforts are well underway with a goal to begin construction activities toward the end of this year. We've got many details to tend to over the coming months -- our hope is that we can open our doors to the community in the second half of 2026!
Where will The Hive be?
The planned site is at the corner of Main and 10th Street in the historic Evans Building, a central location to serve the greater Richmond community!
Who is The Hive for?
The Hive is for you! We're so excited to offer a destination for learning, creating, and connecting with each other!
Why are we doing this?
The Hive Richmond is a community hub that serves as a space to anchor our collective effort to grow as a community. This space will be a place for you to connect with your neighbors, learn new stuff, and create inspired projects! The Hive is part of the Revitalize Richmond initiative that is focused on rejuvenating the center of our city.
The Hive Richmond is planning a makerspace, which is like a gym - rather than building muscles, you can build things. We want to ensure that we are designing this space with the right tools, resources, classes, and membership options for you.
We really appreciate your willingness to help by sharing your thoughts about what would make a great community hub to visit as you think about what's most important to you and your family/friends.
This survey will help us better understand:(1)
Communicate and collect feedback on the proposed purpose of The Hive
(2)
Identify what tools and resources to make available
(3)
Determine what services, classes, and events to offer
(4)
Identify your level and areas of interest/participation
We are currently in the process of designing the facility, choosing tools, and planning programming - your input will help us to make ideal choices based on your input.
Thank you for making your voice heard! This survey should take no more than 6 minutes of your time.
