Urban Roots Farm 2020 Growing Season CSA
Thank you for your interest in the Urban Roots Farm CSA! We believe your choice to spend your dollars on locally grown food is a vote to revolutionize our food system. Keep it up, and we will too!

Each year we like to host a private farm to table dinner for our CSA members .
We love to eat the food we grow and enjoy sharing a table with our community. It is our hope this evening will give all of us an opportunity to get to know one another, and appreciate the commonalities which lead us to value real food.
We will announce the date of the CSA dinner sometime in Spring and it usually happens mid summer. It is a private event just for CSA families.
We strive to provide healthy local veggies to folks at all income levels and one of the ways we can do that is with your help. Sponsored shares are offered for a reduced price of $350. When we have enough sponsors a share is provided to those in need free of charge. We simply ask our sponsored families to spend 8 hours per season working with us on the farm so they can gain the skills and experience the joy of growing delicious, fresh veggies.
If you would like to help out, just select the number of increments you would like to contribute.
Full Sponsorship ($350)
Traditional- In past years we have asked for 50% down at signup, and the remainder anytime before the first pick up. Or if it is easier, you can make one single payment. If you like this structure you can feel free to continue doing so. We love cash or check, because it keeps more money in our local economy, but we are set up for card payment if that's your preference.
Monthly Payments- We want CSA to be affordable to as many people as possible. That's why we allow folks to break up the cost of their CSA throughout the season. If you choose this option you will pay 30% at signup ($288 for Large Shares and $172.80 for Small Shares without add-on options), and the remainder of your balance will be charged in 7 monthly payments $96/month for Large, $57.60/month for Small). Again, these payments can be made by check or cash as well. Feel free to send pre-filled and post dated checks and we will deposit as each month passes.
Mid-season signup- If you are signing up after the season has begun don't worry, with the exception of share sponsorship, your order will be prorated at check out.
I prefer to pay 50% now and 50% before April 7th
I will pay 30% now and make 7 monthly payments after that
I'd like to pay the total up front.
If you will be out of town or unable to pickup or receive your veggies one week we strongly encourage you to share the harvest and make plans for a friend or neighbor to pick up your share. However, if you have plans that require you to miss several weeks in a row, please let us know the dates you will be gone and we can make plans to add your missed weeks shares onto the end of the season.
*This agreement will only be honored if we are notified at least 2 weeks BEFORE the dates you will have to miss.
**Shared risk is an important concept woven into the CSA model which takes the arrangement beyond the usual commercial transaction. Many times, the idea of shared risk is part of what creates a sense of community among members, and between members and the farmers. If a hailstorm takes out all the peppers, everyone is disappointed together, and together they cheer on the winter squash and broccoli. Most CSA farmers feel a great sense of responsibility to their members, and when certain crops are scarce, they make sure the CSA gets served first. Still, it is worth noting that very occasionally things go wrong on a farm. We promise to work hard, and grow the very best vegetables we know how. We have a strong belief in “community” and feel this is where we fit within ours. ****Volunteer hours are not required. However, we welcome and greatly appreciate your time in the field with us. We host periodic Volunteer Days and are happy to have you join us anytime throughout the week.
Within 48 hours of submitting this form you will receive an invoice with the total cost of your CSA share. If you have any questions please email email@example.com or call 417-597-4858. We'd love to be your farmers!
