CDPI Board Application: 2019-2020 | Deadline is Friday, March 29, 2019
CDPI was formed in 1996 by a small group of career services directors who saw a need for a professional association to advance the profession. The association has grown substantially since its inception. Today there are around 200 members representing more than 80 colleges and universities throughout Indiana, and over 500 Friends of CDPI.

The Career Development Professionals of Indiana (CDPI) board is a volunteer, non-profit, working and governing body whose purpose is to implement the mission and goals of CDPI.

Each board member is expected to:
1) Prepare for and attend all quarterly board meetings and monthly check-ins
2) Attend the spring conference and regional/virtual professional development events
3) Actively participate in the goals and initiatives of the board by contributing to decision-making and implementation.

When selecting candidates, the nominating committee considers individuals’ fit for the board role and past involvement in CDPI, overall representation of varying schools, regions of the state, variety of professional roles and specialized skills. While specialized skills, such as financial, legal and public relations, are appreciated, overall skill sets that include enthusiasm, initiative, collaboration, meeting deadlines, and a willingness to become involved, are highly valued.

The board approves a nominated slate of board members, which is then presented to the membership and voted upon during the luncheon business meeting at the spring conference. Terms begin on July 1 and end on June 30.
