The dark side of being an author
I'm asking authors to share the dark side of their writing life. The world seems to think all authors are making millions, live a life of champagne lunches, and spend their time writing in a custom built office looking out over acres of land they own outright.
Some of us know that isn't true and I'd like to 'educate' the masses while showing other authors that they aren't alone in these feelings. It's OK to hate certain parts of this life because others do too.
If you complete this form, it will be shared on my blog over at
You can add your name to be included or you can remain completely anonymous. It's your call.
The post I create will not have links to your books, this feature is purely about sharing your experience and hopefully helping you by having a safe place to vent and helping other authors by showing them that actually, it isn't all fun and games and it's OK to hate some aspects of the writing/publishing life.
Tell us a little about your publishing journey so far ...
Rant ... tell us as much or as little as you'd like to about what you love and loathe in the publishing world.
