Do you love good food and making new friends?

Join VCIL’s Cooking Club!

Each week cooking instructor Michelle from Kitchen Japan will teach us fun new recipes as we follow along from our own kitchens.

You can take part in ways that work best for you and you can have your camera on or off.

No prior cooking experience needed and family participation welcomed.   Everyone enrolled for the full 6-week program will receive a kit of hard to find ingredients sent to them as well as a gift card to purchase common ingredients at the store (fruit, vegetables, protein).

Who Can Join:

  • Live in Vermont
  • Be in grade 7-12, or recently graduated
  • Be an enrolled P2P student (if you are not yet enrolled, we can help you to enroll!)
  • Have access to the internet and a computer or tablet

About the Club:

  • Use the recipes each week to shop for and measure out ingredients before our starting time.
  • Meet with other Vermont students and families on Zoom every Saturday, 11:00am-12:00pm. Our instructor will lead us through the recipes step-by step as we cook together.
  • Participate in ways that work best for you.  This might include video on or off, and sharing questions and thoughts out loud or by typing in chat.
  • After finishing our recipes, we will have time built in for optional anime watch parties while students enjoy their meal or clean up their kitchen.

Club Schedule:

*Note:

These recipes are designed to be safe and simple, utilizing appliances like the microwave or air fryer. However, some recipes will involve using the stove. All recipes and ingredients will be shared in advance, and substitutes will be shared for dietary restrictions.
