Background: An ARC is an 'Advance Read Copy' of a book. I am thinking about expanding my ALWAYS ARC list with the goal of increasing exposure and excitement about my books through HONEST and THOUGHTFUL reviews, both prior to and after release. The point of the ARC is to build interest and awareness of a book before it releases. It is not to make people feel sad, or bad, or rad, or glad. Or mad. Or any other word that rhymes with 'Iliad.'
Pre-reqs:
1. You cannot be an author. That's a different list. An author (for purposes of this list) is any person who has published a book or has plans to publish a book in the future. If you are an author and would like to be added to the Author Always ARC, go here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSccAqbVz1KAki3us3BpDL9UQZ6b95kKMGcGqgGy9dn5eu5e1w/viewform2. You can be a blogger.
3. You must have written at least 4 Amazon (or Audible, iBooks, B&N, etc.) reviews AND 4 Goodreads reviews for any of my previous works (they do not need to be 4 or 5 star reviews, just thoughtfully written).
OF NOTE: if you do not meet #3 on the pre-reqs, never fear! I update/refresh my ARC list every year. I encourage you to start leaving reviews now if you want to join the Always ARC group later.
Requirements/what you can expect if you are chosen:
1. You will be added to a "secret" Facebook Group called "Always ARC Reiders" where ARC distribution and related materials will be organized. Spoiler discussion and posts related to the books are a-Okay in the group.
2. ARC's will be sent to you prior to the book's release.
3. Goodreads: You will need to read and leave a review on Goodreads for each ARC at least 3 days prior to the release date, and then update that review once the book is live.
4. Retailer websites: You will need to read and leave a review on at least one retailer website (Amazon, B&N, iBooks, etc.) for each ARC at least 3 days after the release date.
5. Reviews in general: Reviews should be thoughtful, discussing likes (if any), dislikes (if any) and why a person should or should not read the book upon release.
6. You may not share the ARC with anyone. Each ARC copy will be unique to each reader. Therefore, if any of the copies are pirated, the reader responsible will be banned from the group and removed from the Always ARC list.
7. What happens in the group stays in the group. You are not to discuss the goings on or take screenshots of what happens in the Reider group. If you do then you'll be removed from the ARC list.
