Visual, Performance and Literary Artist Application and Nomination
Thank you so much for taking the time to nominate yourself or the artist/group you feel would thrive as a member of The Dirty Grind Independent Artist Community™'s family! We welcome you to submit as many nominations on separate forms as you wish.

The Dirty Grind Independent Artist Community is a not-for-profit artist concierge organization in which our family of artists perform and show at our venue. The menu of benefits we offer artists has been groundbreaking in SL and fine-tuned with the help of our artists and supporters. We cater to professional visual artists, writers, and performers,
including professional recording artists and their management teams.

We love to hear about artists from any discipline! A prospective artist needs to be able to use or learn to use Second Life®, but we do not require any experience in a virtual social environment. We are happy to help introduce artists to the beautiful, diverse community in which we share our passion.

If you have not done so, I encourage you to visit us inworld at our flagship location @ http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Fender/47/87/36. We also have locations on The Wash sim and at our sister venue, The Official Virtual Hotel Chelsea. You may also visit our five-part experience in Sansar starting @

We feel it is vital to not stifle creativity. In order to achieve this, we have a few guidelines members of our community follow and appreciate. These are:

1. Have fun.

The artist enhances the friendly, caring, open and free atmosphere we maintain to provide a safe and welcoming environment that is the agar on which expression and community can grow. This simply means we encourage our
artists to interact with each other and

2. No bullshit.

We don't allow drama to interfere with the creative process. This is a family of emotionally mature individuals who are passionate about their craft.

3. Artists' work is their own and performances must be 100% live.

Visual artists:

This simply means you are the original creator of your art. Additionally, we will consider individuals whose art is strictly snapshots of other's creations that are taken within virtual reality, only those exceptional photographers who are gifted with the ability to bring that work to the realm of fine art will be considered.

Musicians:

Our community supports LIVE, ORIGINAL musicians.

For our artists, 100% LIVE MUSIC means music that is PERFORMED and STREAMED completely LIVE during the performance for the audience. This means our musicians do NOT use drum machines, pre-recorded loops or samples during live shows, this loops and tracks a musician records his/herself.

We DO, however, make the exception of allowing musicians to live loop, which means using a looper to record LIVE and loop real-time while performing. For more information on live looping and what it means, please visit http://www.kenk.com/what-is-live-looping/.

Finally, we do allow musicians to cover songs, but original music is our preference. Radio Grind will not play any music our artists do not hold rights to.

3b. HAVE FUN!!!! :)

After your application is reviewed, members of our community will review the information and submissions. If you or the artist you nominate is chosen to receive an invitation, details will be sent out. This may take some time due to the volume of applications as well as time constraints.
