This 2-day course equips participants with the basic knowledge and skills of delivering proper care for the elderly. It provides hands-on practice on assisting the elderly in their Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as personal care in hygiene, mobility, eating and toileting, which includes lifting and transferring, use of mobility aids, measure and record vital signs and simple wound dressing, as well as effective communication techniques. These skills will prepare family caregivers to care for the elderly as well as those who intend to work in the ILTC sector or do voluntary community care work.
