In this time of Crisis across the Middle East, Europe and Africa, Seeqnce has identified an Opportunity to scale its highly successful acceleration model to serve the tens of thousands of startups formed in the wake of increasing unemployment and government austerity.
In the past 3 years, Seeqnce has focused its efforts on hands-on acceleration of tech startups in risk averse cultures. What started in 2010 as a (1) Startup Collective, soon began providing (2) Startup Advisory, and organizing (3) Entrepreneurship Events & Activities. In 2011, an (4) Accelerator was launched in Hamra, encouraging startups from around the world to relocate to Beirut. Then in 2012, Lebanon's first (5) Startup Acceleration Program led to four globally competitive startups that are well on their way to securing follow-on investment. These endeavors were highly successful and critically acclaimed (featured on The Economist, TechCrunch, Forbes, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, BBC News, WIRED, Le Monde, France 24, among others).
It is now 2013. For 3 years, Seeqnce has been collecting data on an entrepreneurship need that far exceeds the capacity and resources of a physical startup accelerator; a need that is common to all risk averse cultures, which are prevalent in the EMEA region. With every additional datapoint, collected during dozens of visits to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Seeqnce grew more excited about developing an inhouse product for this vast market that could simultaneously accelerate 1000s of startups instead of 8. Thus Alice was born.
Alice is an all new web product by Seeqnce that “De-Risks Startup Investment” for Angels & VCs in risk averse cultures, specifically Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
On schedule for an October 2013 public release, Alice will be used by startups and investors to speak a common language and find common ground, effectively leading to more investments, which in turn encourages entrepreneurship, thus completing the circle necessary to jumpstart flailing economies.
Alice is coming.
