2020-2021 Shorewood HS Student Parking Application (Terms of Acceptance)
Students must complete this application and provide their parent/guardian approval and electronic signature.
Shorewood HS Parking Rules and Regulations
• Buying a parking permit does not guarantee you a parking stall on campus. Parking is VERY limited.
• Stalls are available on a “first come, first served” basis.
• Once all student stalls are filled, you must park off campus.
• Parking permits are sold to Juniors and Seniors only. Sophomore students cannot park on campus.
• A valid parking permit decal must be displayed in the corner of the windshield when parked on campus. The decal must be placed in the upper left corner of the windshield (above and to the left of the steering wheel) facing out.
• Valid permit decals include 2020-2021 Shorewood HS or 2020-2021 Shorecrest HS parking decals only.
• Students must drive safely and responsibly on campus at all times, as speed limit is 5 MPH.
• Permit decals are for individual use only on the vehicle listed below and cannot be shared between students, altered, marked on, defaced, sold or duplicated.
Students are restricted from parking in the following areas:
• Any stalls or areas marked or signed, “VISITOR”, “AUTO TECH”, “BUS LANE” or "NO PARKING"
• Main Bus Loop (entry is from Fremont Avenue North and North 172nd Street) 6:00am to 3:30pm
• Fire lanes, Bus lanes, Emergency access lanes or areas striped off for Emergency vehicle access
• Any area on campus not commonly used for parking
Failure to follow parking regulations can result in the following action:
• 1st Offense - Written warning/sticker on vehicle
• 2nd Offense - Monetary fine of $5.00/sticker on vehicle
• 3rd Offense - Monetary fine of $10.00/sticker on vehicle
• 4th Offense – Monetary fine of $20.00/sticker on vehicle
• 5th Offense – Vehicle booted - $40.00 for boot removal
Flagrant Offenses
Flagrant offenses include, but are not limited to:
• Vehicles parked in pre-designated stalls, fire lanes, bus loop, emergency access lanes or areas not commonly used for parking.
• Speeding or Reckless Driving on campus
Flagrant Offenses can result in the following action:
• The vehicle will be “booted” - $40 boot removal fee OR
• The SW parking permit tag may be revoked temporarily OR permanently with no refund of permit fee for violation.
The following information is a very important part of the Parking Rules and Regulations at Shorewood HS and is applicable for all vehicles parked on the Shorewood High School campus:
• The parking permit decal is the property of Shorewood High School and must be surrendered upon request.
• Holder of a parking permit decal agrees to not keep any GUNS, ALCOHOL, ILLEGAL DRUGS, or DRUGS not approved for minors in the vehicle while parked on campus.
• Holder agrees to follow all school and district rules and guidelines.
• Holder consents to search of vehicle on school grounds by school officiate, law enforcement officer or trained dog without notice.
• Holder agrees to locking up vehicle and placing valuables out of sight while parked on campus.
The Shoreline School District and Shorewood High School assume no responsibility for any damage or loss of personal items, including items checked out to you by the school, for vehicles parked on the Shorewood High
School campus. Parking lot collisions are NOT the responsibility of Shorewood or the Shoreline School District. Drivers should exchange insurance information privately and/or contact Shoreline police department.
