Please complete all fields below to submit an abstract for the 2026 joint meeting of the Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction and the Qualitatives, to be held at the Brock Niagara Falls hotel, June 10-12, 2026 hosted by Wilfrid Laurier University.

We will assess your abstract in terms of its fit with the conference. The additional details are for contact purposes, to assist with organizing, and for grant applications to support the conference.

Due to time and space limitations, we will only be able to accept one paper per primary author.

CONFERENCE EVENTS

Student Mentoring Lunch:
We will host a networking lunch event on Thursday to allow students to have informal conversation opportunities with junior and senior scholars with similar interests. Please let us know if you are interested in participating. *

Instant Ethnography
This year we may run an in-conference ethnographic exercise. Small teams will be let loose in the city, during conference time, to study the local place and present their "findings" during a session on the last day. If you take part in this activity, you will miss 1-2 conference sessions. Not all who express interest may be selected; we will make teams by drawing randomly from those who answer "yes" below seeking to group novice and experienced ethnographers. *
