Tosa DI Registration Form 2026-27
Once again this year, we are using a common form for DI participants in Wauwatosa so that we can take advantage of volume discounts and streamline registration processes for school coordinators and team managers. The Friends of Tosa DI will work with DI volunteers at the respective schools to place students on teams. Our goal is to notify all parents of team placement no later than late October.

Fees:
Competitive (3rd-12th grades): $170
Rising Stars (1st-2nd grades): $130

This fee covers team registration, program expenses, and a regional tournament T-shirt for every student. Please make your check out to the Friends of Tosa DI and return to 8537 Glencoe Circle, Wauwatosa 53226; or pay via Venmo to Friends of Tosa DI president Anne Coulling (@anne-coulling); or pay using credit card or PayPal using the "Donate" button at FriendsofTosaDI.com. However you pay the fee, please indicate the student's name to help with our bookkeeping.

The preferred signup deadline is Friday, Oct. 9, but we will continue to accept students provided we have room on teams.

There is financial assistance available for families who need it. If the cost would prevent your child from participating, please contact Anne Coulling at anne.coulling@wisconsindi.org. All such inquiries will be kept strictly confidential. (Fees will be refunded if we are not able to place your student on a team.)

Your child’s team may have additional small expenditures or may need you to donate supplies or snacks. We also encourage families (when possible) to support fundraisers for Friends of Tosa DI, which supports teams citywide through instant challenge kits, workshops, scholarships, and funds for teams who advance to Globals. Thank you!

If your child is in grades 3-12, please note which challenges they are most interested in (you can select more than one). Students in grades 1-2 will be automatically assigned to the Rising Stars challenge: Feeling Wild. All challenges are performance based and include an element of theater. Learn more about this year's challenges at https://www.destinationimagination.org/challenge-experience/challenge-previews/. (We cannot guarantee that all students will be able to solve their preferred challenge, but answers to this question will help with team placement.)
We will do our best to accommodate schedule requests, but meeting times are set by the team managers. In general, teams meet once a week for one to two hours. Depending on the availability of the team manager, a second meeting may be added closer to the tournament date. Some teams meet on weeknights, others on weekends. Please indicate which days/times your child would be available, from November to March:
DI depends on volunteers! If we do not have enough volunteer team managers, we might have to turn some students away. Team manager training is provided, with both in-person and virtual options available. If needed, are you willing to be a team manager or co-manager for your child's team? *
Your child must be available to compete/present at the regional tournament at Muskego High School on Saturday, March 13, 2026. You should plan to attend all day if required by the team’s scheduled time slots for the instant challenge and skit (we won't know exact performance times until about a week before the tournament). For grades 3-12: If the team does well enough and advances to the state tournament, your child will compete on Saturday, April 10, at Sun Prairie West High School.  Is your child available on these dates? *
DI is a collaborative extracurricular activity that requires students to be respectful toward their teammates and managers. Listening and hard work are very important to ensure a good experience for the whole team. If managers feel a student is being disruptive, not working well with others, or not committing to practices, they may request that the child’s parents/guardians attend meetings. If behavior does not improve, they may remove the student from the team. Please review these expectations with your child and respond below after you have done so.

Photographs of DI participants may be used for publicity purposes during the year on school, district, PTA/PTO, and Friends of Tosa DI Facebook pages. (Note: This is not required, but please let us know if you do NOT give permission for photos to be used in this way.) *
Anything else you'd like us to know? For example, is your child on grade level socially/emotionally, or would they benefit from being paired with younger students?
