2020 SCYR Summer Sevens Series - Tournament Host Application
We are pleased to announce the 2020 SCYR Summer Sevens Series! The goal for SCYR Summer 7s Series is to have full age group tournaments each open weekend, getting all the clubs involved. SCYR’s summer mission is to promote the game of 7s rugby and positive rugby culture in Southern California.

Applications are due by MARCH 6, 2020.

Clubs wishing to host a Series tournament on one of the listed dates should first read the 2020 SCYR Summer 7s Series Hosting Handbook, which lays out all the procedures and requirements for hosting a tournament. All tournament hosts must comply with these requirements and they should be understood in their entirety before an application is submitted.

The Sevens Committee will review applications and award the SCYR Summer 7s Series tournaments by March 20th, 2020. Tournaments awarded a spot in the Series will pay a $100 Sanctioning fee. Fees must be paid before spots are secure. SCYR will issue an invoice to the successful hosts.

There is no specific registration cap in place, however, we do recommend the following fee structure $225 for U18, $200 for U16 Boys & U15 Girls, $175 for U14 and below. If your tournament will charge more please include your fees and also the reasoning for this.

Verification of Compliance with Tournament Requirements
Please confirm you will meet all SYCR Summer 7s Series tournament requirements. More details on each are in the SCYR Summer 7s Series Handbook.
SCYR and USA Rugby sanction requirements will be followed. *
All participating teams must be in good standing and have minimum 7 athletes and Level 200 coach. All tournament requirements must be followed. See Handbook for more details. Teams that have not applied for USAR sanctioning will be required to pay the expedited USAR fee to rush.
Participating players will be officially checked in and age-verified by tournament personnel. *
All teams must submit a PRINTED Match Report from MatchApt containing all eligible athletes. All athletes must be completely registered and ID verified and on the MR or they must not be allowed to compete. It is the host club's duty to check-in athletes and enforce this requirement.
All Medical requirements listed in the Handbook will be met. *

Minimum level of certified referees will be met and referee allocation and payment processes will be followed *

We would like to host a Refereeing Course prior to your tournament to help train older athletes, parents and coaches to referee younger ages. *
