Hot Summer of ‘64 - Event registration
Registration ends Thursday September 17th
September 20th from 2 - 4 pm A Zoom presentation by Daniel Cody
The decade of the1960s was a decade of change. 1964 was a pivotal year in the history of the country and Rochester, as well. During three days in July, civil unrest forced Rochester to face its’ shortcomings and make changes. Rochester would never be the same after that hot summer.
This is an opportunity to see what lasting changes actually occurred as our country is again looking at racial equality and social justice.
Dan Cody is an adjunct lecturer in American History at Finger Lakes Community College, Genesee Community College and RIT.
