Gear Up 2021- for students entering kindergarten and first grade in the Fall, 2021.

A chance for children, who will be attending kindergarten and first grade at HES in the fall to spend a little time getting to know the school and meet some new friends. Come meet friends and get to know the building before the first day of school.

August 16-20. Children get acquainted with the setting and daily routine of a K/1 class. We will have lots of fun learning with hands-on activities, meet new friends and have recess too! We will take a tour of the school to help become familiar with the building. Come join us! Advanced registration required. Choose morning or afternoon. Maximum 10 students per session.

Gear Up will follow the same distancing and safety guidelines as HES, including masks, mask breaks and eating outdoors, etc.

Space is limited to 10 students per session. Register early!
Students must be entering Kindergarten or first grade at HES in the Fall 2021 to participate. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants should consider themselves enrolled unless notified otherwise. If a class is full we will contact you as soon as possible, generally with 2 business days to let you know.

Procedure to register for a class:

Pay online (electronic check) at the school’s Online Payment Center, Unibank. Please be sure to use the Community Education "SUMMER SPECTRUM" payment option. (Note: Unibank charges a $.25 service fee for online check payments). Please email your Payment Confirmation number to (we do not receive notification of payment from Unibank). If you pay through Unibank and a class is cancelled, your refund will be sent by check, processed through the Town Warrant.


Drop a check off at the Community Education office, 39 Massachuetts Avenue (white house next to the elementary school).

Both REGISTRATION and PAYMENT must be received in order for your child to be added to a class roster.

Refund Policy: Please contact us. Refunds will be considered based on relevant circumstances. Fee will be returned if a session is cancelled.

Late pick-up will result in a $1.00 per minute fee payable immediately to the instructor.
