Share Your Story at the 9/11 Anniversary Town Hall

9/11 Anniversary Town Hall: The Targeting of Institutions

8:00 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2019

In the aftermath of 9/11, institutions that serve the Muslim community and their leaders were targeted by national security through surveillance, informants, raids, deportation, and incarceration. The 5th Annual 9/11 Anniversary Town Hall will explore how the national security state targets Islamic institutions and the impact of this issue on community.

Expanding upon AANM’s popular Hikayat storytelling series, the Town Hall will shed light on real-life experiences of this kind of surveillance through the art of storytelling, with personal stories by local community members.

Storytellers who are chosen will receive one-on-one coaching from Satori Shakoor, producer, curator and host of The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers.

Would you like to tell your story on stage? Or, do you know someone who has a story to share? Complete the form below to suggest a storyteller for the Town Hall.
