A little about us.
The Central Illinois Young Farmers Coalition (CIYFC) is open to farmers of all ages, as well as chefs, farmer advocates, and aspiring farmers, who are leading the way to create a healthier, more hopeful food system in our region. We cover the area outlined below. The group plans to organize social and learning events for its members and hopes to advocate for progressive food systems policy, as well as collaborate on processing and marketing projects. We are a chapter of the National Young Farmers Coalition (NYFC) and we affirm the mission to shift power and change policy to equitably resource our new generation of working farmers. We envision a just future where farming is free of racial violence, accessible to communities, oriented towards environmental well-being, and concerned with health over profit.
The purpose of this form is to better define the membership of our organization and improve communication moving forward. The benefits of declaring your CIYFC membership include direct communication about upcoming opportunities and voting privileges. Members may also be eligible for financial assistance through the Central Illinois Disaster and Emergency Relief (CIDER) Fund. You are also encouraged to become a member of the NYFC (
https://youngfarmers.org/) to become part of the network of farmers and amplify your voice on important national issues. NYFC Members also have the benefit of discounts on select farm equipment, seeds, & supplies.
Join our network of folks throughout Central Illinois who share resources, organize, and advocate together to support the next generation of farmers. We need you!
