Quirky Clean is located in Columbus, Ohio at the 400 West Rich St Studios in Franklinton. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to work at least 6-8 hours per week as an assistant. The schedule is flexible, but will be discussed before hand. Studio interns will be a part of the regular production routine. Work involves all aspects of running an small handmade soap company. This is a learning and working internship.
College Credit: If you are interested in college credit, we are willing to work with any college or university to see if our internship meets their requirements. You should contact your campus advisor or department chair to figure out the proper paperwork and procedure for your school.

The studio intern position is unpaid. Lunch will be provided during working hours. Free products will also be available to all interns. A studio intern has the opportunity to work as a commission based booth intern during their time.
A typical day at Quirky Clean:A day at Quirky Clean involves a variety of takes that are typical of running a small soap company. Interns are fully immersed in the production process and will learn the following skills:
- Lye Safety - Cold Process Soap Making- CPOP Soap Making- Body Care Product Making- Mineral Makeup Making- Proper Sanitation- FDA Labeling Requirements- Packaging Design- Marketing via Social Media- Networking- Website Design- Sales- Wholesale and Custom Order Processing- Packaging and Shipping- Studio and Equipment Maintence
Requirements for Studio Intern:- Must be at least 18 years old. - A passion for handmade local products- Must have your own transportation- Interns must sign a non-disclosure and non-compete agreement form related to certain trade secrets of the business. An agreement not to share certain skills learned during internship is expected.
Skills to be taken from the internship:- Blogging and social media. - How to run a small business.- Bookkeeping and expense tracking. - Following FDA requirements- Managing wholesale contracts- Maintaining proper and positive relationships with vendors and customers.- Packaging design
All studio interns have the opportunity to apply to be a booth intern. Booth interns work festivals and events on behalf of Quirky Clean.
Booth interns schedule are based off the need of the company. Booth interns are paid a commission based off their sales.
Typical day as a booth intern for Quirky Clean:- Picking up festival supplies. *including a 10x10 pop up tent, tent weights, table, supply boxes, etc- Hauling and carrying supplies to festival site.- Setting up displays per company standards- Interacting and selling products to customers- Answering customer questions about products- Running register for sales, collecting cash and processing credit card payments. - Posting on social media promoting event. - Inventory - Breaking down and cleaning up after event. - Returning supplies to studio
