Devine ISD August 2020 Return to School Parent Survey for Instructional Setting
Dear Parents and Families,

As we approach the 2020-2021 school year, we know it will look different from any previous school year. Devine ISD is committed to serving all students and to continuing our Tradition of Excellence.

After receiving guidance from TEA, we have some clarity about our Instructional Delivery Options (IDO). TEA has given school districts very clear information about how we will take attendance, and, ultimately, how we will receive funding from the state. For students in grades 3-12, there are three options: In-person instruction, remote synchronous instruction, and remote asynchronous instruction. For students in PK-2nd grade, there are two options: In-person instruction and asynchronous instruction. (Remote options will be explained in greater detail within the survey.)

Your responses to the questions in this survey will help us make planning decisions about those options. As you decide on the option/s for your child, keep in mind that students whose parents select remote learning will have to be engaged in synchronous or asynchronous instruction each and every day in order to be counted present. All TEKS must be taught during the 2020-2021 school year as well, and students in grades 3-11 will be required to take state-mandated STAAR tests.

Thank you for the information you have given us. It gives us an idea of how to proceed in our decision-making for the fall semester. We realize these numbers and decisions are preliminary. Always be assured that we value your input and solicit your active involvement in your child’s education.

We will send you additional information at the beginning of August. At that time we will ask you to make a final decision about the IDO you are choosing for your child/children.

Please assist us with planning for school in August by completing the survey.

Please respond by Sunday, July 19.
