CHIME Telescope
The CHIME radio telescope is a uniquely designed instrument that's currently advancing our understanding of the universe. One of the things it's looking at is fast radio bursts (FRBs) ― mysterious, incredibly energetic, brief radio waves coming from distant galaxies. Only a handful of FRBs have been detected and scientists don't know what's producing them. This interactive session will give an overview of CHIME and discuss how you can share some of its physics with your students via topics such as conservation of momentum and electromagnetic waves.
