MDEDF Student Advisory Committee (SAC) Application for 2020-2021
Welcome to the MDEDF Student Advisory Committee Application for 2020-2021!
The MDUSD Education Foundation Student Advisory Committee (SAC) serves to aggregate student input for the MDUSD Education Foundation (MDEDF) from across the district. By centering student voices, MDEDF hopes to empower students to play a critical role in the foundation’s decision-making efforts. By actively encouraging involvement from MDUSD high school students, we are seeking to constantly integrate their opinion into our programming efforts and subsequently pursue intentional growth with a comprehensive understanding of student priorities.
The Mt. Diablo Education Foundation Student Advisory Committee selects two representatives from each high school site. SAC members meet once a month from August 2020 to May 2021 (considered one-term). Please Note: SAC members may not serve for more than two terms (or two academic years). This year, SAC will be only recruiting from incoming sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Among the SAC members, one student will also be selected to serve as the SAC Student Chair. Their primary responsibilities will be to coordinate monthly SAC meetings, foster student-driven conversations, and attend monthly MDUSD Education Foundation meetings as a voting member. Furthermore, among the SAC members, one student will be selected as the SAC Vice Chair (serving as an alternate for MDEDF Board meetings as necessary). The SAC Student Chair and Vice Chair selection process will occur after the initial SAC meeting in August 2020.
