DACA Financial Assistance for Lee County, NC Residents

Given a judge's order, USCIS announced on Saturday, January 13th, 2018, that it has reopened the application process for anyone whose DACA has expired. However, the process for applying is different if your DACA expired before September 5th, 2016. If your DACA expired before September 5th, 2016, you can request to renew your DACA but you must fill out the application as if you were applying for the first time.

When the announcement that DACA was being terminated was made, USCIS imposed the limitation that only people whose DACA expiration dates fell between September 5th, 2017, and March 5th, 2018, would be allowed to reapply, but that rule does not apply to the process announced on January 13th, 2018.

***Note: USCIS is not accepting first time applicants for DACA.

Thanks to the generous support of community members, El Refugio is offering a limited amount of financial assistance on a first-come-first-served basis to residents of Lee County of up to $250 per person to cover DACA renewal fees.

Once you fill out this form, we'll follow up with you about the status of your application as soon as possible. If approved, we'll need you to:

1) Have your full DACA renewal application ready to send
2) Bring cash or a money order written to El Refugio / The Refuge for the portion of the fee that you are contributing
3) El Refugio will write a check for the full amount of the fee to DHS ($495) .
