Ideas for your Boston Main Street
Boston Main Street Foundation’s Back To Main Street Pilot Program aims to generate public involvement in the implementation of creative community improvements by incentivizing individual donations with matching BMSF funds when the financial goal is reached. Projects must focus on the creation or activation of underused public spaces and community places, or other initiatives to support the revitalization of Boston Main Street Districts.

How It Works:

1. Submit your ideas or suggestions for your Main Street District using this form before September 8th, 2017 at midnight.
2. Patronicity vets projects and submits viable ideas to Main Street Directors for consideration.
3. Directors submit their final project plan to BMSF Board for approval.
4. If you are seeking up to $10,000 in funding: Selected Projects will have up to 30 days to crowdfund up to $5,000 in matching funds from BMSF through in the Fall of 2017.
5. For projects seeking to crowdfund more than $5,000, please see the Commonwealth Places program provided by MassDevelopment offering as much as $50,000 in matching grants per project.

Sample Projects Include:

Farmers Markets, Movie Series and other Recurring Events Series, Public Plaza & Green Space Development or improvement. Main Street Improvement Projects, Pop-Up Retail Spaces, Storefront/Facade Improvements, Seating etc.
