KSWLA  Executive Board Nominations
The Kansas World Language Association seeks to immediately fill the following positions.

VICE PRESIDENT: This position is 1-year term followed by 1-year term as president and 1-year term as past president. 

BENEFITS:
1. Networking: Make connections with leaders across the state and country.
2. Engage in professional conversations with KSWLA Executive Council members.
3. Develop your leadership, planning, management, and presentational skills.
4. Gain experience in the planning of WL professional events.
5. Participate in advocacy regional and national events for World languages.
6. Voting member of the Executive Council.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Represent the President as needed.
2. Observe all actions of the president and past president for a year so as to assume duties the following year.
3. Organize and manage the Conference Raffle (virtual or in-person) and Garage Sale (in-person fall conference).
4. Attend monthly Zoom meetings.
5. Recruit and maintain communication with presenters for the Annual Conference.
6. Check in with President monthly to make sure expectations are clear and questions are answered.
7. Connect and communicate regularly with Regional Representatives.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have experience teaching a world language and/or ESOL or training world language and/or ESOL  teachers.
2. Must be or have been a world language and/or ESOL educator in Kansas.
Secretary: 2 year term
BENEFITS:

2. Engage in professional conversations with KSWLA Executive Council members.
3. Participate in advocacy regional and national events for World languages.
4. Voting member of the Executive Council.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Record and distribute minutes of business meetings.
2. Communicate and contract with advertisers and exhibitors.
3. Attend monthly Zoom meetings.
4. Maintain and update the association website and digital archives (accessible to Executive Council in the Google Drive).
5. Serve as Editor of all publications, including the conference program.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have experience teaching a world language and/or ESOL or training world language and/or ESOL teachers.
2. Must be or have been a world language and/or ESOL educator in Kansas.
ADVOCACY CHAIR: 2 year term

3. Participate in advocacy regional and national events for World languages.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Attend KSWLA Executive Board virtual monthly meetings.
2. Promote World Language Education.
3. Engage with Policy Makers.
4. Develop Advocacy resources.
5. Outreach to Stakeholders.
6. Monitor legislation and policy changes.
7. Participate in Advocacy events.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have experience teaching a world language and/or ESOL or training world language and/or ESOL teachers.
2. Must be or have been a world language and/or ESOL educator in Kansas.
