The majority of participants will be coming from DC and those from other cities such as Baltimore, Philly, NYC, etc. are welcome to join us; once you fill out the brief application we will be in touch to discuss what works best for you.
We will depart from the DC area for NY after work on Thursday evening June 7 and return to the DC area on Sunday later afternoon/early evening June 10. If you are coming from another city you can meet us on Thursday evening June 7 and if you are from NYC you can meet us in the morning Friday, June 8.

The cost of this trip is $250 if you are coming from DC/Baltimore/Philly and if you are coming from NY/NJ we can discuss a reduced cost. Cost all transportation to and from NY, all accommodations, and most meals. If the cost of the trip is prohibitive please email us. This trip is supported by Repair the World.
About the organizations: EntryPointDC, the 20s and 30s program of the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center, is committed to helping Jewish adults in their 20s and 30s in the D.C. metro-area build and maintain a Jewish identity and a connection to the community through social and educational programming. Annual community service projects include Everything But The Turkey, D25 Day of Service, and Good Deeds Day. Repair the World NYC enables people to transform their neighborhoods, city and lives through meaningful service experiences, rooted in Jewish values, history and heritage.
B’Yachad: A Giveback Getaway Trip to Brooklyn is a two and a half day immersive experience where participants will volunteer directly at a variety of organizations as well as engage in learning about the systemic issues that create inequality and social injustice in our society. Experience New York City from a completely different perspective and build friendships with like-minded people you can continue to connect with back home in DC.
Our Giveback Getaway Trip to Brooklyn will include:• Preparing a meal for the hungry at St. John’s Bread and Life • Canvassing neighborhoods to inform the local community about the SNAP program• Participating in a youth after-school project with Brooklyn Community Services• Partaking in anti-oppression training led by Repair the World• Empowering young inmates by editing their poetry through the DC based organization, Free Minds• A young professional Shabbat community gathering with other young professionals from NYC• A walking tour of Brooklyn• Time to explore the city and more!
