Sándor Lau of Noted Financial (NotedFinancial.com) will lead this easy to moderate level hike of approximately 3-4 miles round trip (and less than 850 ft of elevation gain) from the Fossil Ridge trailhead. Sándor is an Eagle Scout and has led over 1000 people on over 100 hikes since the 1990s. He walked across 300 miles of New Zealand in his documentary film, Sándor's New Zealand Trail. See some of his adventure videos at www.SandorLau.com.

We will meet in the Tuscany Suites hotel lobby at 9:00am Sunday April 30 after Paper Source and return to the hotel or airport by 3:00pm. Noted Financial will provide limited van transportation. Participants may also drive their own vehicles and carpool. Save the date and bring your hiking boots! It's free for Paper Source attendees and families but limited to 25 participants.

Please register as early as you can, and by 5pm on Friday April 28 latest so we can plan for transportation. You can learn more about Red Rock Canyon at: www.redrockcanyonlv.org. We may alter plan based on weather or other conditions. No pets, firearms, or smoking are allowed on this trip.

--Gather in Tuscany lobby 9am for 9:15am departure

--Drive west on Charleston Blvd which becomes Red Rock Canyon Rd/Blue Diamond Road to Fossil Canyon Trailhead parking at 4053 Fossil Ridge Rd. This parking is shared with Cowboy Trail Rides. There are no facilities here. While hiking we may find fossils. Take pictures. Leave the fossils behind. Give right of way to horses and cyclists.

Average high temperature for the area at this time of year is 85 degrees fahrenheit and average low is 61. Please dress appropriately and bring a jacket, hat, and sunscreen. There are many jagged and poky things in the desert so please wear sturdy closed-toed hiking or running shoes with long pants and bring a snack to share. We do not recommend wearing cotton clothing for outdoor activities. If cotton gets wet, it stays wet and makes you cold. Synthetics or wool are much better.

Please bring plenty of water and your lunch which you can get at our Albertsons stop.

By registering, participants agree that driving and hiking are activities that involve a degree of risk and hold Paper Source, Notable Financial, and Sándor Lau harmless for anything that may occur in the course of this excursion. By registering, you agree take responsibility for all risks of this excursion. Scroll down for registration.
