Leaders of the Free World(LFW) is an international experiential learning and leadership development program for young Black men. Our mission is to develop dynamic leaders who are globally-minded, self-aware, and service-driven.
www.leadersofthefreeworld.orgThe Leaders of the Free World Program is focused on the personal and professional development of young Black men. LFW Fellows will take part in an 8-month leadership development program that includes a trip to Ghana, mentorship, leadership training, and networking.
Our program maximizes the potential of our students while building their confidence, effectiveness, and self-efficacy. We teach our fellows to be resilient, courageous, self-reflective, and action-oriented.

2024 Program Dates: The program will meet virtually prior to the trip to Ghana. Fellows will need to be available Monday evenings, 8-9:30pm EST starting Late February.
- Pre-departure / LFW Curriculum: 6 Bi-monthly Sessions (2 Mondays per month / Feb-May)
- International Trip: The trip to Ghana will run from June 2-15.
- Virtual Re-integration: 3 Session (Aug - Oct)

Students enrolled in the following institutions are eligible for full funding if accepted to the program. Brooklyn College, University of Delaware, Guilford College, New Jersey City University, and Prairieview A&M University.
Sponsorships also available through Central Mass Council on Aging and the Institute for International Education.
LFW does not provide any funding or scholarships at this time.
