Bildungsurlaub at Sumaa Language & Cultural Institute in Bangkok, Thailand

Since 2023, Sumaa Language & Culture Institute has been offering a program called "Thai Language & Culture" (or, in German, “Thailändische Sprache & Kultur”) for participants from Germany who wish to apply for educational leave (referred to as “Bildungsurlaub” in German).

All course levels integrate linguistic, socio-political, and cultural elements. This ensures that participants not only enhance their proficiency in the Thai language but also gain valuable insights into Thai culture and its differences compared to Europe and/or Germany. For beginners, the focus is on practical communication in everyday situations (such as traveling, ordering food, etc.) alongside discussions of cultural topics like daily behavior and local customs. In the more advanced levels, the emphasis shifts to mastering the Thai alphabet, with a focus on professional topics.
