SHAPING THE FUTURE (post-pandemic) - CALL FOR ARTICLES (collaborative digital book format)
Hi there, shapers!
*The current initiative is facilitated by STORYSCAPES, a non-profit association focussing on transmedia approaches in art and education, along with GLOBAL SHAPERS BUCHAREST HUB, a non-profit aiming to design social impact projects.
We are launching a call for articles for a digital anthology book aiming to collect visionary proposals from as many cultures/angles/perspectives as possible.
We are aiming to ideally gather visions that deal with one or more of the following key questions:
- What can we learn from this unprecedented crisis?
- How can we foster better practices after this series of events?
- How may improved societies/universities/museums/cities look like (with a series of local, glocal and global measures)?
- What should each field of practice learn from this kind of unforeseen situation?
- How can we design more meaningful and more responsive societies?
- How can we prevent a future pandemic crisis from happening in our own field?
- What policies would be needed in post-pandemic societies?
- How will art/research/education be redesigned in the short, medium, long term?
- What individual/community/societal measures can we take to inhabit more balanced societies?
- What radical shifts are we expected to make?
Recommended length of the article:
- 5 pages one-spaced (10 pages double-spaced), including at least one key idea/proposal/vision regarding the post-pandemic future.
Style of articles:
- we are welcoming scholarly approaches (Chicago style preferred) and alternatively, in exceptional cases, unconventional writing formats coming from artists/technologists/non-academic contributors
Extended Deadline for completed articles: August 25th 2020
*The participation is free of charge and we encourage everyone with a strong and meaningful vision in mind to apply.
*Each contributor will be informed about the progress of the collaborative piece in September. We reserve the right to curate submissions and/or to edit them when needed, with the approval of the contributors.
*The final curatorial round will be facilitated by a team of multidisciplinary Global Shapers Bucharest Hub members. And finally, after these internal rounds, we will aim to finalize the intricate mix of perspectives into a cohesive collaborative piece.
Let's design a meaningful collaborative post-pandemic worldview altogether! <3
