WHO: ALL O’Connor High School FEMALE Athletes (7-12th) that live in the O’Connor Attendance Zone or those athletes who have been approved to transfer to O’Connor.

PURPOSE of STRENGTH CAMP
: The purpose of the Panther Strength Camp is to enhance the athlete’s ability to perform during competition regardless of the sport(s) they play. This is done with a 7 week comprehensive program of drills and exercises to increase the athlete’s SPEED, STRENGTH, POWER, AGILITY and ENDURANCE. The 1.5 hour session will be broken into four basic phases: Weight Room, Speed/Agility, Core, and Conditioning. We will strictly teach the proper technique and safety to help ensure the welfare of all the athletes.

PURPOSE of SKILLS CAMP: We, the O’Connor Girls Coaching Staff, have the opportunity to work sport specific skills.  This new change by UIL that allows our kids to be together and make more progress on their individual skills.  Cross country, Track, Tennis, Golf, and Swimming do NOT fall under this new rule, because they each have their own set of specific guidelines regarding workouts with kids in our attendance zone.  While excited about this change and opportunity, we understand many kids will be playing on outside clubs and leagues, so we want to be conscientious of burn out and over use.  We will make changes accordingly, as we see fit, and what we believe will benefit the kids most.  However, we are highly recommending they attend these workouts when they can. IT IS AN EXPECTATION THAT THESE KIDS ATTEND STRENGTH & CONDITIONING IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN SKILL WORK OUTS.

Skill Work Outs for Team Sports:  9:00-10:00
Volleyball:  Monday & Wednesday
Basketball:  Tuesday & Thursday       
Soccer:  Tuesday & Thursday             
Softball:  Tuesday
