U12 age groups or younger (school year 7 or below)
Entry fee £20, entrants must be ECF silver members or above

All sections will be ECF rated. and I expect the top 1 or 2 sections to be FIDE rated as well. The bottom section will be suitable for beginners with little experience of chess.
Prizes : Trophies of 1st/2nd/3rd in each section ; medals for those missing out on a trophy by tie-break; small chocolate prizes for all U8s
Time control: Top sections: 20 min + 10 sec, bottom sections 15 min + 10 second (may be adjusted)
Children must be under the age of 12 on 31st August 2020 (school year 7 or lower). Children aged 11 or over on the day of the tournament must wear a face covering during play.
The overall capacity is 48 children. Children will be split by strength into all-play-all sections. For this purpose a mixture of the July 2020 OTB ECF grading list, current ECF online and OTB ratings, and current lichess rapid ratings will be used.
This tournament assumes the government roadmap continues to proceed to plan, with no additional restrictions brought in.
