Senior students with 90 or more earned credits may be permitted to leave the school premises when they have no scheduled classes or other school activities, provided that their parents or legal guardians (regardless of senior's age) have agreed to (or signed) and submitted to Princeton High School the consent waiver and indemnification form prepared by the Board of Education.
Seniors so authorized must sign out before leaving and sign in upon returning at the attendance window. The privilege may be withheld or withdrawn for cause notwithstanding the consent of the parent and/or legal guardian. This privilege may be withheld or revoked at the discretion of the administration.
1. To be eligible for senior sign-out, a student must be a senior in good standing. Only senior students who have earned a minimum of 90 credits at the beginning of this school year will be entitled to the privilege.
2. All seniors who participate in the sign out privilege must first have on file in the Assistant Principal's Office a valid consent waiver form.
3. Before leaving the campus, students will be required to sign the logbook at the attendance window, indicating the time of leaving, their destination, and their expected time of return. Upon returning to campus, students will be required to sign in.
4. Students who do not conduct themselves in an appropriate manner during school hours or at school sponsored activities may be subject to a loss of this privilege at the discretion of the Principal.
SENIOR PRIVILEGE CONSENT WAIVER FORM
I, (Parent/Guardian name), the parent/legal guardian of (student name), a senior with a minimum of 90earned credits, authorize the administration to permit my son/daughter to leave school premises in accordance with this policy. I understand and agree, however, that if my child is injured while off school premises, I release and give up any and all claims and rights which I may have against the Princeton Public Schools Board of Education or any of its representatives for such injuries.
I also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Board of Education and its representatives in the event my child injures the person or property of another during such permitted leave. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Board of Education and its representatives should my child, upon reaching the age of majority, sue for injuries received while off school premises in accordance with the Policy. This indemnification shall extend to any loss, including damages and counsel fees, sustained by the Board of Education or its representatives, regardless of any finding that the Board of Education or its representatives have been negligent or otherwise at fault.
