Between October 2024 and September 2025, Create:Networks 2024/25 funded nine new and established local creative networks across Scotland to build, grow and sustain themselves. As well as funding, networks took part in peer-sharing and network development support. The activity of each network aimed to support local creative practitioners and businesses to become more sustainable.
We’re now looking back at the work of this project, and thinking ahead to what might come next. We're looking to engage with two distinct groups of folk:
1. Those who applied to Create:Networks 20204/25, but weren't funded.
As someone who applied to be part of Create:Networks, we’d love to hear about your experiences of applying, as well as to learn more about your hopes, challenges and barriers to supporting your local network.
2. Those whose work resonates with these aims, but who didn’t apply for funding in this round.
Perhaps you didn’t see the call-out for applications, considered an application but decided not to go ahead, or heard about the fund after the deadline passed. You might have followed the progress of the funded networks, or - reading the above - now wish you’d applied.
For people in either of these groups, we’ve created this short survey. We’d suggest setting aside around 10 minutes to complete it. We'll be selecting a representative sample of those who complete the survey to join an online group discussion in late November 2025, and a fee of £100 per network will be offered to cover the costs of your time taking part in this discussion. You can leave any questions blank. You can choose to submit responses anonymously (but you then won't be eligible to take part in the online discussions, or to access the associated fee).
Create:Networks 2024/25 was led by Creative Dundee, with support from The National Lottery through Creative Scotland. Your responses will be stored by Kathryn Welch (who is delivering this evaluation) and Creative Dundee, and may be used, without attribution, in the report and evaluation of this project. We will check with you directly to get your permission if we want to name you directly in any published reports.
If you have any questions about this survey, or the project more widely, please contact hello@kathrynwelch.co.uk. The survey will close for responses on Monday 17 November 2025.
