For LEARN, activities includes one-on-one homework help; tutoring in math and reading; classes in science, art, music, and technology; and enrichment programming. For YLC, we offer middle school students additional academic support and enrichment, social/emotional support, and life/leadership skill training. Students participate in academicnights, field trips, and single-gender workshops on issues such as healthy relationships, healthy habits, and diversity. Students enjoy a healthy meal each day.
The JCIT Program activities include leadership training, work experience, and cultural and enrichment field trips throughout the Boston area.
The Teen Program offers teens meaningful employment experiences as Counselors in Training (CITs) or Community Organizers. Teens also participate in our College and Career programming, job training, and mentoring programs.
● YLC (Grades 6-8) The program fee is $115 per trimester, or $300 if you pay the entire year at once. Partial scholarships are available if your family cannot afford the full fee.
● JCIT (Grade 9) There is no cost to the JCIT program. If a JCIT completes the full program, he or she will receive a $50 stipend each month in recognition of his or her learning and effort.
Parents of students in 9th-12th grade do not need to come to the registration meetings, but must turn all paperwork in to Teen Staff Managers (contact Kasey@ssypboston.org for more information).
