B-READY Afterschool Enrichment Program​ provides a safe, fun, academically enriching environment for more than 110 students entering ​ grades 1-5 (LEARN), 45 students entering grades 6-8 (YLC), 15 students entering grade 9 (JCIT), and 25 students in grades 10-12 (Teen Programs) every year.

For LEARN, activities includes one-on-one homework help; tutoring in math and reading; classes in science, art, music, and technology; and enrichment programming. For YLC, we offer middle school students additional academic support and enrichment, social/emotional support, and life/leadership skill training. Students participate in academic
nights, field trips, and single-gender workshops on issues such as healthy relationships, healthy habits, and diversity. Students enjoy a healthy meal each day.

The JCIT Program activities include leadership training, work experience, and cultural and enrichment field trips throughout the Boston area.

The Teen Program offers teens meaningful employment experiences as Counselors in Training (CITs) or Community Organizers. Teens also participate in our College and Career programming, job training, and mentoring programs.

● LEARN (Grades 1-5)
The program fee is $115 per trimester, or $300 if you pay the entire year at once. Partial scholarships are available if your family cannot afford the full fee.

● YLC (Grades 6-8)
The program fee is $115 per trimester, or $300 if you pay the entire year at once. Partial scholarships are available if your family cannot afford the full fee.

● JCIT (Grade 9)
There is no cost to the JCIT program. If a JCIT completes the full program, he or she will
receive a $50 stipend each month in recognition of his or her learning and effort.

How do I register my child?
All parents/guardians of students in 1st-8th grade must attend one of the following MANDATORY REGISTRATION MEETINGS. You may register for either site at either meeting. We recommend that you fill out this application online ahead of the meeting. We will also have staff available to help you with the online application at the meeting.

Parents of students in 9th-12th grade do not need to come to the registration meetings, but must turn all paperwork in to Teen Staff Managers (contact Kasey@ssypboston.org for more information).
