Peer Tutor Application
Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Peer Tutor at EDHS! Qualifications are based on your grade point average, successfully completing and passing corresponding courses with an A or B, your attendance, and the recommendation of your counselor.

There are 4 different facets of Peer Tutoring - you may participate in one or all of them.

1. CLASSROOM-BASED peer tutoring in the Academic Recovery classes for Freshmen & Sophomores.

2. CLASSROOM-BASED peer tutoring in the AVID classes. You do not need to be an AVID student.

(CLASSROOM-BASED tutoring is excellent for your resume and college/scholarship applications, and you receive 5 credits per semester on your transcript.)

3. Blue Latte PAID Tutoring Lab after school: Scheduling is arranged monthly through the Career Center, and you are paid at school through grant funding. Payment is a stipend that equates to $12/hr.

4. Blue Latte PAID Private Tutoring: Individual students request a tutor, and your name can be given to them as a potential tutor. All arrangements made in this program are strictly between you and the person you are tutoring, including payment. You may accept or decline these offers at your option. The expected pay rate is $12/hr.

Please be aware that if you choose to participate in  Blue Latte tutoring, the contact information you provide on this form will be provided to other students. Also note that tutors enrolled in one of the classroom-based programs during the school day will receive priority for paid assignments.

Your Peer Tutor application will be processed within a few days. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Yurkovic in the Career Center.
